BAYWING EF-150 EXPRESS Active Fly-by-Wire Electric Hydrofoil Platform

Aero-Marine Systems is building the software-defined future of Hong Kong and GBA maritime transit. By integrating aerospace-grade 100Hz flight control algorithms with Pearl River Delta carbon-composite supply chains, the BAYWING architecture completely decouples the hull from hydrodynamic drag—slashing energy requirements by 80% and making high-speed electric passenger and cargo routes commercially unstoppable.

HONG KONG 2026–2036 // THE "EV ON WATER" MASTER PLAN

Transforming Every HK Ferry & Island Cargo Route in 10 Years

Just as electric cars and commercial trucks transformed Hong Kong's roads over the past decade, BAYWING is engineered to electrify 100% of Hong Kong's waterways over the next ten years. Think of our platform as an EV on water: an unsinkable, modular carbon-aluminium "skateboard" hull packed with safe LFP marine batteries, lifted above the waves on computer-controlled hydrofoils, and recharged in 8–15 minutes via floating dockside battery buffers—carrying commuters by day and roll-on/roll-off (Ro-Ro) island freight by night.

01. RADICAL EFFICIENCY
-78% OPEX

Hydrofoils lift the hull out of the water, cutting drag by 80% and slashing energy cost from $22.50/NM to $4.90/NM.

02. RAPID CHARGING
8–15 MIN

Dockside BESS buffers trickle-charge off standard HKE LV street power and deliver megawatt DC top-ups while boarding.

03. PAX + RO-RO CARGO
25–400 PAX

Modular flat deck carries fast commuters by day and 4t–50t of silent zero-emission island freight pallets by night.

04. ULTRA-SAFE & SMOOTH
100Hz AI

Active fly-by-wire sensors adjust submerged flaps 100x/sec—eliminating seasickness, harbour wake, and black smoke.

DEEP TECH MOAT & THERMODYNAMIC ECONOMICS

Defensible OPEX Advantages

Legacy fast ferries rely on multi-megawatt diesel gas turbines pushing heavy displacement hulls. High marine fuel costs and escalating engine overhaul expenses compress operating margins. Our Fly-by-Wire control system enables a thermodynamic shift.

01. Platform Dynamics
80%

Drag Reduction

Fully submerged T-foils lift the hull completely above the waves at 18+ knots, decoupling the vessel from hydrodynamic displacement drag.

Cruise Power: ~1,050 kW
02. Core IP Moat
100Hz

Active FCS Loop

Triple-redundant Fly-by-Wire software reads IMUs and LiDAR, adjusting submerged flaps 100x/sec to neutralize Victoria Harbour wake pitch and roll.

Wake Wash: <0.15m (CEDD Safe)
03. Infrastructure
4.0MWh

Shore BESS Buffer

Floating/dockside BESS trickle-charges continuously off existing 300–900 kW LV municipal transformers, delivering 3.5 MW DC bursts without HV grid bottlenecks.

Charge Rate: 500 kW → 3.5 MW DC
04. Route Yield
78%

OPEX Savings

Direct electric pod drives yield ~$4.90 USD/NM energy costs, compared to ~$22.50 USD/NM for legacy marine gas oil turbines.

LIVE INFRASTRUCTURE TRACTION // HK ELECTRIC DISTRIBUTION PLANNING

Sheung Wan Landing No. 1 Grid Interface Walkover Scheduled (Oct 2026)

HK Electric’s Distribution Planning Department has initiated technical feasibility review and scheduled a joint site walkover at Sheung Wan Landing No. 1 for our 250 kW – 900 kW continuous Low-Voltage (380V AC) supply profile—validating both the 500 kW charger for our BAYWING-D2 pilot and the first modular floating BESS buffer for the EF-150 without multi-year 11kV road excavations.

Institutional Investment Merits

STRUCTURAL MOAT & CAPITAL EFFICIENCY

1. 93.5% Non-Dilutive R&D Leverage

HK$ 2.99M of our HK$ 3.20M Phase 0–1 budget is covered by HKSTP Incu-Tech, ITF RTH, and PAG grants. Investor equity is preserved for commercial scaling.

2. Froude-Scaled Physics De-Risking (Fn = 1.17)

Proving 100Hz active flap stabilization on the 3.56m D1 in Tolo Harbour mathematically solves hydrofoil control stability before carrying passengers on the D2.

3. 78% OPEX Reduction Across All 23 HK Routes

Decoupling the hull cuts energy burn to ~$4.90 USD/NM vs ~$22.50 USD/NM for diesel vessels, delivering a ~3.1-year payback on EV CapEx.

Engineering & Execution Mitigations

GRID, CERTIFICATION & MANUFACTURING DE-RISKING

1. Modular Avionics & ITF RTH Engineering Team

ITF Research Talent Hub funds 2 full-time control/mechatronics engineers from Day 1, built on modular ROS2/AUTOSAR C++ architecture and COTS hardware.

2. Zero-Excavation Low-Voltage BESS Buffering

Rather than waiting years for 11kV substations, our unidirectional BESS draws 250–900 kW continuous LV power from existing HKE transformers.

3. Asset-Light OEM Manufacturing Model

Hull layup is contracted to established Pearl River Delta (PRD) composite shipyards under DNV HSLC classification, while we retain high-margin FCS and powertrain IP.
